Selina Helliwell Productions was created by actor/burlesque performer/writer/spoken word poet/producer & cabaret curator Selina Helliwell. And all of her projects - theatre productions, cabarets, digital theatre and films, can be found here.

Whilst studying Creative & Professional Writing, Selina fell in love with theatre and performance. Her stage debut was at the Nottingham Playhouse in 2013 and she has since performed at the Royal Exchange, The Palace Theatre, Waterside Arts Centre, 3MT Venue, Soho Theatre, New Diorama and The Lowry.

She also has screen experience including short films, commercials, music videos and digital theatre.

Selina Helliwell Productions came into existence in 2018 when Selina wrote, produced and performed in her own play 'Burnout' at The Three Minute Theatre, which won a 'Highly Commended' Northern Soul Award in the 'Theatre Production of the Year' category, and was also shortlisted in the 'Fringe Production of the Year' category. She developed it into a full-length, two-act play, which debuted at The King's Arms, Salford in October 2019 where it had a sell-out run, and was shortlisted for another award 'Leading Live Event of the Year' at the 'This Is MCR' awards.

Selina's digital theatre production 'Fruit Salad' was nominated for an 'OffFest' Award and her one woman show 'The Formidable Lizzie Boone' won her a Manchester Fringe Award for 'Best New Producer 2021', she was also nominated for 'Best Actor' for her role as Lizzie, and the show was nominated for 'Best Drama' in the 2021 awards as well. And The Formidable Lizzie Boone won Chris on Theatre's 'Most Promising Debut' Award in 2022.

'The Formidable Lizzie Boone' toured the UK after its run at the Manchester Fringe Festival with shows in London, Brighton, Buxton, Sale and Halifax. Any further showings of this play, will be available on the 'Upcoming Shows' page.

Selina has also been performing burlesque professionally since 2021 (and exploring the art since 2019). She has performed burlesque routines under the stage name 'Ember Travixen' at various locations/cabarets including Bad Bunny Burlesque at The Fitzgerald (Manchester), Ember & the Vixens at The King's Arms (Salford), Ember & the Vixens at Manchester Art Gallery, To Bee Presents at Lock91 (Manchester), Karma Leon's Kabaret at Picture House Social (Sheffield) & Blue Balloon's Freedom of Expression at The Fitzgerald (Manchester). The Formidable Lizzie Boone also features a burlesque routine, which has been highly rated in reviews of the show and Selina also played a burlesque/cabaret dancer in 'Sweet Dreams', a short film by Vamoose Productions.

In August 2022, Selina curated her own variety night 'Ember & the Vixens', and the debut show was incredibly successful. Since its debut, she has curated a plethora of shows including shows with Christmas, Valentine's and Halloween themes, all of which soldout. The Christmas show, Festive Foxes 2022, was funded by Arts Council England. Because of its initial success, it will now be staged every few months, showcasing Selina's (Ember Travixen's) burlesque, as well as other burlesque performers, singers/musicians, and spoken word poets, at venues such as The King's Arms and Manchester Art Gallery/ Tickets for the next show can be accessed via the 'Upcoming Shows' page.
